The ease of use with this bag is why I got it. It holds all my lenses (6) , my flash, my zf , and lens hoods
You may need a clear bag to build your cards, card readers, and wires so you don't have to dig into the front pockets looking for them. The ability to sling the bag around, open, change lenses, close (and stays closed) without lenses moving around in the bag, and throw back is paramount. That's why you get this bag. You didn't need to think about it because it just makes sense.
Thank you Stefan for your kind review. We hope you get many years of enjoyment out of the bag 🙂
Impulsief gekocht. Tas naar voren swipen en een fancy drukknop bieden niks extra’s. Te duur voor een fototas. Snel doorverkocht.
We greatly appreciate your feedback on the bag. However, we believe that with a little more time, you would have come to appreciate its unique advantages.
Having full access to your gear at the press of a button provides you with unparalleled convenience and utility. Additionally, one of the standout features of our bag is that it doesn’t require you to set it on the ground to reach your gear.
While there is a small learning curve, most users get accustomed to their bags quickly. If any additional assistance is needed, we have an in-depth video tutorial series, and we are always here to help!
Using this backpack is honestly effortless. Everything about the layout makes getting to my gear quick and intuitive. I never feel like I’m digging or fighting zippers to find what I need. The access points are well thought out, so whether I’m grabbing something small or pulling out larger items, it all feels smooth and efficient.
The structure of the bag helps everything stay in place, which makes a big difference when you’re on the move. I can open it up, see my gear immediately, and get what I need without unloading half the bag. It’s clear a lot of attention went into making this pack practical for real daily use.
We appreciate your review 🙂
This camera bag is a great idea. I love how it works. I have some big issues with this bag that I am trying to deal with.
1. The tripod holder located at the bottom of the bag is extremely difficult to remove. After 20+ minutes I finally got it out. I am going to leave it out permanently so that I don't have to go through this again.
2. The bags compartments do not hold much. I could only get thin things into it such as digital cards and batteries. No room for a jacket or other items. This makes it so that I may not use the bag unless I am going to be needing to carry a minimal amount of items. This is the biggest issue for me.
3. No place to carry a water bottle. This was very shortsighted on the part of the designer. Who goes into he wilderness without water? Another big issue with this bag.
Overall, I love the idea. I am just uncertain how practical this bag will be in light of the above issues.
Thank you for your detailed feedback, Craig. We understand that there are some features, or a lack of features, that may feel limiting, and we appreciate the opportunity to provide clarification on your concerns.
Tripod pouches:
Because the bag’s fabric must remain fairly tight around the internal frame in order to maintain overall rigidity and stability, some of the pockets are more snug than those found on camera bags without this requirement. Optimally, users will want to stow the tripod straps away, though they can also be left out if preferred, without affecting overall functionality. It is also worth noting that most camera bags do not offer the option to stow tripod straps at all.
Storage:
As previously stated, the bag requires tighter tolerances in its design than a traditional camera bag. This can make it feel smaller, especially for new users. With some rearranging and familiarity, The Top Shelf is capable of holding an amount of gear equivalent to most small to medium camera bags, accommodating roughly 80 to 90 percent of photographers’ typical storage needs. Water bottle holder:
There is a necessary trade off between speed and versatility in this area. One side of the bag must remain free to sit comfortably on the hip, while the other contains a side access door. Unfortunately, this leaves no suitable space for a dedicated external water bottle pouch. In addition, adding one would create balance issues, and the bottle would likely fall out during access. Some alternative solutions include carrying a small bottle inside the bag, using the tripod pouch and strap, or using a separate water bottle holster.
As this bag was designed for ultra quick and convenient access, combining elements of a traditional camera backpack and a sling, there are some inherent trade offs in the overall design. Even so, with a short acclimatization period and some use, most users are able to use The Top Shelf comfortably and efficiently.
It is also worth noting that we will be releasing a new camera backpack in the near future that is geared toward larger storage needs and more varied pocket options.
My 23 year old niece has been searching for the “right” camera bag for 9 years. She found a love for photography at the age of 14 while in high school, it continued through college, and now post graduation. She lugs her camera equipment everywhere, always telling me how she can’t seem to find the “right” bag that is comfortable and fits her equipment needs. Until now! She hinted about wanting this bag for Christmas, and I was happy to buy it for her. So far it’s working out really well.
We apprecaite your review. We hope your niece receives many years of enjoyment with her new bag 🙂
